At BIOLIVE, our unwavering passion for nature's finest products drives us to create premium-quality, authentic olive oil. Handpicked from the old-century groves of Berat, Fier, Vlore and Peqin, in southern and central Albania, our olives are cold-pressed with care to preserve their natural flavor and freshness. As we honor the traditional methods of our craft, we also embrace innovation to bring you the best of both worlds. Our unique geography, paired with the Mediterranean climate, grants us the opportunity to produce the finest olive oil nature has to offer.
The preservation of our olive oil's flavor, quality, and freshness is of the utmost importance to us. That's why we employ a thorough decantation process in our state-of-the-art storing and bottling plant, removing any fruit sediment to ensure that only pure, extra virgin olive oil reaches your bottle. To further protect our precious oil we use stainless steel tanks, which are hermetically sealed with nitrogen and stored at a temperature of 16-18°C (60.8 - 64.4°F). Finally, we choose to bottle our extra virgin olive oil in dark glass to shield it from light and maintain its impeccable quality. At BIOLIVE, we believe that the love, passion, and commitment we put into every bottle are evident in every drop.
The beginning of our story is marked by a pivotal moment in history, the fall of the communist regime in Albania in 1991. In the wake of the regime's departure, poverty plagued the nation, driving my father to seek a better life in the neighboring country of Greece. It was there, at an olive oil mill, where my father discovered his true passion for nature and the timeless beauty of the olive tree. He was captivated by the process of turning the fruit of the tree into the “liquid gold” that is olive oil.
Inspired by the boundless potential of the olive tree, my father returned to our origin city Berat, a city renowned as the "City of Olives". Rooted in a rich cultural heritage dating back over 2,400 years and protected by UNESCO, Berat is a city like no other. It is here where our company was founded, surrounded by the timeless beauty of the ancient city and the rich legacy of its century-old olive groves. Nourished by my father's passion and philosophy for nature's offerings, I chose to further my knowledge by studying Food Technology.
With a newfound understanding of the science behind our beloved olive oil, we honored its ancient roots by building a new factory with natural, hand-carved stone. Equipped with a state-of-the-art mill and modern storage and bottling solutions, we proudly introduced our rebrand as BIOLIVE in 2020.
We hold the belief that olive oil is not simply our product, but rather a gift from nature. Our duty is to extract it in the most delicate and respectful manner, preserving its natural essence, values, and health benefits. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that by honoring the traditional methods of olive oil production and embracing innovative techniques, we can create a truly exceptional product that celebrates the rich heritage of the land and its people. The olive trees hold a special place in our hearts, and we feel a deep sense of responsibility to maintain the highest standards in the industry and provide our customers with the best possible experience.
You can't make good olive oil with bad fruit. And so it's important to have full control over the entire process.
Handpicked from the century-old groves of Berat, Fier, and Vlore in southern Albania we carefully select only Albanian autochthonous olive varieties Kotruvs, Kaninjot, Mixan and Nisiot for their superiority.
Immediately transported to our cutting-edge mill, we cold-press our olives at a precisely controlled temperature of 23-25°C (73.4-77°F) to retain the pure, fresh, and authentic taste that only cold extraction can provide.
Then our olive oil undergoes a meticulous decantation process at our state-of-the-art storing and bottling facility to remove any fruit sediment and guarantee that only pure, extra virgin olive oil reaches your bottle.
To ensure the oil's quality and consistency, we store it in stainless steel tanks that are airtight with nitrogen and maintained at a temperature of 16-18°C (60.8 - 64.4°F).
We ensure premium quality, by subjecting each batch to rigorous testing in our laboratory and at various accredited food safety institutes. This meticulous examination guarantees that our olive oil is authentic and meets the highest standards of excellence.
Our packaging process begins in our advanced, fully automated bottling line. We opt for dark glass bottles to safeguard our extra virgin olive oil from harmful light exposure.
Finally, carefully packaged and ready for distribution, our premium extra virgin olive oil awaits its journey to reach the dining tables and creative kitchens.
